First and foremost I am a pistonhead and a big fan of Italian Marques. I was seemingly born with Italian cars in the blood, our family driveway was rarely without an Alfa Romeo while I was growing up.

I used to be taken around the country to watch the Alfa Romeo Owners Club championship and the Italian Inter-marque championship, and relished the sights and sounds of all the beautiful cars rushing past. Years later, upon leaving school, I went to work for one of the race teams in the Alfa championship as an apprentice, where over the years, my apprenticeship was completed and I earned my IMI qualifications and a wealth on experience of many many Italian cars. I then served my time in the workshop, gaining more experience, until I decided it was time to move on.

Subsequently, AforAlfa was born in 2005 to specialise in Italian cars, with a vision of doing great work, at competitive prices, but with one aim above all. To treat others like I wish to be treated and to take care of the vehicles as they are my own.

To start with, it was just me and my van touring the country, working mobile on all sorts of Alfas, Fiats and Lancias, in wind, rain, sleet and snow, and the occasional shine! With the great support of my Fiancé, taking care of the paperwork and advertising amongst other things, I moved into my little workshop in Aylesbury In November 2007 so I could work out of the weather, but continued doing mobile up until mid ’08 when it was just too busy in the workshop to really get out anymore. Although I still do the odd mobile job if it’s close by or a customer is in a real pickle out there because we all know what a big inconvenience it is to find yourself stranded.

Currently I offer a collection and delivery service, within reasonable distance from my workshop. The workshop in Aylesbury, Bucks is lets say cosy, therefore we can't offer the big beautiful tiled workshop, and a leather clad waiting room, but what we can offer is a friendly welcome, somewhere to sit and most of all the knowledge that we care about what we do. After all, how many other Italian vehicle workshops would allow you to watch your car being worked on and allow you to give your input during the process if you so wish? The answer is almost none!

What I offer to my customers is a promise of the best prices on cambelt changes, where the customer knows what they are getting, and exactly what they are paying, none of this "err, um, it could be this price or that". Great prices on servicing, using OE parts as much as possible, and great prices on repairs. I try to keep the customer informed at all times if a car is spending some time with me and I will only carry out work after agreeing this with the customer first!

I am active in the Italian car scene, and can be found at many meets, including the Ace café, on the second Thursday of each month, most Auto Italia meets, and the Alfa days, maybe I’ll see you there.

Thanks for reading.
